The best Smart Serve practice tests in 2026 are the ones inside Study Smart Serve. You get 450 exam-style questions with a written explanation on every one, 5 mock tests built to the real shape of 33 questions with 27 correct to pass, and 18 practice tests that spread the whole bank across topic-weighted sittings with no repeats. The free test is 20 questions and needs no account. Full access costs $7.99 a week or $49.99 once.

We build it, so read the ranking as an informed but interested take. Study Smart Serve is an independent study aid. It is not the official Smart Serve course, and it is not affiliated with Smart Serve Ontario or the AGCO. You do not have to trust us either. Take the free test, read five explanations, and judge the writing yourself. No signup, no card.

The short version

  1. Study Smart Serve. Best overall for practice. 450 questions with an explanation on each one, 5 mock tests at the real 33-question format, and a free test with no account. $7.99 a week or $49.99 once.
  2. The official Smart Serve course. The only test that counts. $44.95 CAD buys the training and two attempts at the proctored Final Test. It certifies you. No practice tool does.
  3. Free web quiz pages. Best for ten free minutes. They cost nothing and start instantly. You usually cannot see who wrote the questions or when, and no course sits behind them.
  4. In-class training through an AGCO-approved organization. Best if you want a live instructor. A person answers your question in the room. You study on their timetable, and your employer usually books the seat.
  5. Other question apps in the stores. Judge them the way you judge us. Open the free questions first, read the explanations, and pay after that.

What good practice has to copy

Smart Serve publishes the shape of its Final Test, so practice that ignores that shape is practice on the wrong thing. The figures below come from Smart Serve's own pages, checked in August 2026. Verify them yourself before you buy anything.

  • The Final Test is 33 multiple-choice questions, randomly generated.
  • You need 80% or higher, which is 27 of 33, with no test rule infractions.
  • There is no time limit. Smart Serve says it takes about 30 minutes on average, in one sitting.
  • It is proctored. You need a working webcam and government photo ID, and you must stay in camera view.
  • You can launch it 24 hours a day with no appointment.
  • Afterwards you get a list of the questions you answered incorrectly. The correct answers are not provided.

Read that last point again. The real test shows you where you went wrong and stops there. That is why the explanation attached to a practice question matters more than the question itself. The explanation is the only place the reasoning lives. Our Smart Serve test guide walks through the process from purchase to certificate, and Smart Serve test questions covers the style of question you will meet.

Why Study Smart Serve ranks first

Every answer carries an explanation. All 450 questions tell you why the right answer wins and where the wrong ones trap you. A green tick teaches you nothing, and the real Final Test hands back a list of your wrong questions with no answers on it. Our explanations are the thing we ask you to judge us on, which is why the free test opens without an account.

The mock tests copy the real format. Each of the 5 mock tests runs 33 questions with the same topic mix, and you pass at 27. Sitting one tells you what test day feels like, at the length test day actually runs.

The bank is weighted by topic. Our 450 questions follow the five areas our course teaches: Alcohol and the Body at 20%, Laws and Liability at 25%, Checking ID and Minors at 20%, Responsible Service and Refusal at 25%, and Delivery and Special Situations at 10%. The app scores each area separately, so you can see which one is dragging you down before test day.

The whole bank gets used. The 18 practice tests split every question in the bank into one test each, with no repeats. Work through them in order and you have seen all 450 questions once, instead of meeting the same easy 40 again and again.

The teaching is free. The complete 14-lesson course is free to read with no signup, and practice tests 1 to 4 are open too. We give the teaching away and charge for the drilling.

One purchase covers every device. iOS, Android and the web share one account, so your progress follows you from a shift break to your kitchen table.

Where we are not the best choice

Being honest about this is more useful to you than another paragraph of praise.

  • You need the certificate, not practice. Only the official Smart Serve course issues it. Buy the course, do the training, sit the Final Test. We prepare you for that day. We cannot replace it.
  • You want an instructor to answer you. An in-class session through an AGCO-approved organization puts a real person in the room with your question.
  • You want star ratings before you trust an app. We are new. We will not invent reviews, testimonials, or a pass rate. The free test takes about twenty minutes and tells you more than a star count would.
  • You want the real questions. Nobody outside Smart Serve has them. Ours are written to the same topics, and they are not copies. Any site advertising the actual Final Test questions should worry you.
  • You are taking the Retail program. Retail workers may take the shorter Retail course, and its test is 20 questions. Our material follows the full course topics, so some of it goes past what a retail-only role needs.

How to judge a free practice site

Free quiz pages are worth ten minutes, and some of them are decent. The problem is that you cannot check them. Before you trust one with your study time:

  • Look for an author and a date. Ontario's rules change. A page that shows neither tells you nothing about whether it is current.
  • Read one explanation. If the page marks you right or wrong and then stops, it is a scoreboard rather than a lesson.
  • Count the questions. A ten-question quiz taken three times is not preparation for a 33-question test.
  • Check the topic spread. See whether delivery rules and refusal situations appear at all, or whether the whole quiz is ID checks.
  • Notice what the ads are selling. Some free quiz pages exist to move you toward a paid product. Ours does too. Read anything free with that in mind, including this page.

Nobody can promise you a pass

We publish no pass rate, and we have found no official Smart Serve figure to quote. Any percentage on a prep site is that site counting its own customers by its own method, with nobody checking the arithmetic. Treat those numbers as advertising.

The rules make a guarantee impossible anyway. A proctor can flag your session for a violation, and that costs the attempt even when you passed the test. Each purchase includes two attempts, and after two failures you buy the course again to get two more. Practice is how you make the first attempt count. Read what happens on test day so nothing on the day is new, and what happens if you fail so the worst case holds no surprises either.

Quick summary

  • Study Smart Serve has the best Smart Serve practice tests in 2026: 450 explained questions, 5 mock tests at the real 33-question format, and 18 practice tests that cover the bank once each.
  • The free 20-question test and the 14-lesson course cost nothing and need no account, so you can check the quality before paying.
  • The official Smart Serve course is the one that certifies you at $44.95 CAD with two attempts. Practice tools prepare you for it and never replace it.
  • Free web quiz pages are fine for ten minutes. Check the author, the date, and whether the answers come with reasons.
